BASF investiert am Standort Ludwigshafen in Erhöhung der Produktionskapazität für Neopor® / BASF invests in increasing production capacity of Neopor® at Ludwigshafen site

BASF stärkt ihre Styrol-Wertschöpfungskette am Standort Ludwigshafen und erweitert die Produktionskapazität für Neopor® um 50.000 Tonnen pro Jahr. Mit den zusätzlichen Mengen soll die wachsende Nachfrage nach dem grauen Dämmmaterial am Markt bedient werden. Die Inbetriebnahme der neuen Produktionsanlagen ist für Anfang 2027 vorgesehen.
Neopor® ist das von BASF entwickelte graphithaltige, expandierbare Polystyrol (EPS), das als Rohstoff-Granulat vorwiegend für die Herstellung energieeffizienter Dämmstoffe für die Gebäudehülle eingesetzt wird. Das enthaltene Graphit verleiht dem Material die graue Farbe und erhöht die Dämmleistung der Dämmstoff-Platten im Vergleich zu weißem EPS um bis zu 30 %. Dämmstoffe aus Neopor® haben im Neubau und in der Sanierung neue Maßstäbe gesetzt

BASF is strengthening its styrene value chain at its Ludwigshafen site by expanding the production capacity of Neopor® by 50,000 metric tons per year. This increase is aimed at meeting the growing market demand for the grey insulation material.
The start-up of the new production facilities is scheduled for early 2027. Neopor® is a graphite-containing, expandable polystyrene (EPS) granulate developed by BASF, primarily used as a raw material for the production of energy-efficient insulation materials for building envelopes.
The graphite contained gives the material its grey color and enhances the insulation performance of the boards by up to 30% compared to white EPS. Insulation materials made from Neopor® have set new standards in both new construction and renovation.
